Who are we? GLAWN: The African Great Lakes region - Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania & Uganda was established in 2000, as a platform and support structure for women, experiencing difficulties due to the effects mostly from deaths in the community, abuse and cultural conflicts in the UK. Organisational Structure GLAWN operates under 1 full-time Co-ordinator, a management Committee of seven women from, Burundi, Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, & Tanzania. A number of networks in Diaspora including CEFIAR, African Women’s organisation for development (GHARWEG & UGANDA AIDS ACTION FUND) five dedicated volunteers, a membership of 152 individuals and a full-time worker. |
